Tandem Discovery Flight
Your first time in the air — no experience, no training, just the view.
You are clipped into a certified tandem harness in front of a professional pilot. Three running steps off the Kijabe launch and the ground simply stops being underneath you. For the next fifteen to twenty minutes you sit in a comfortable seat 600 metres above the Rift Valley floor, watching the escarpment fall away, Mount Longonot on the horizon and the acacia scrub sliding past below. Every flight includes a full safety briefing, all equipment, and photos taken from a pole-mounted camera.
Long Thermal Flight
Stay up. Core the thermals. Land when the air lets you go.
On a good Kijabe day the escarpment generates reliable thermals from mid-morning. This flight is booked with time rather than a fixed duration — your pilot works the lift and stays up as long as conditions allow, usually thirty to forty-five minutes, sometimes considerably longer. You will feel the wing load up as it climbs, hear the vario sing, and see the valley open out in every direction. Best booked between 10:30 and 14:00.
Learn to Fly — Pilot Course
From ground handling to solo flight, under instruction the whole way.
A structured course that takes you from never having touched a wing to flying solo. It starts on the training slope with ground handling and inflation drills, moves to low bunny-hop flights, then to supervised high flights from the Kijabe launch with radio guidance. Theory covers meteorology, air law, equipment and site protocol. Run in blocks over consecutive weekends or as an intensive week, with all training equipment provided.
Photo & Film Flight
A slower, steadier line flown for the camera.
Built for photographers, film crews and content shoots. The flight plan is agreed on the ground: which ridge lines, which light, how many passes. Your pilot flies smooth, predictable arcs and holds position where the frame needs it. We can carry a gimbal, fly in formation with a second wing, or coordinate with a ground crew. Golden-hour slots fill quickly.
Nothing hidden, nothing extra at the launch
Four steps. That is the whole scary part.
People brace for a stomach drop that never arrives. A paraglider launch is a transition into forward flight, not a fall — you simply stop being supported by the ground and start being supported by the air.
